"Storeroom (Thumbpiece Active)":
This is the critical part. "Storeroom" is a specific lock function, also known as "Entrance/Closet" function. Its behavior is:
Locked from the outside: Always requires a key to enter.
Locked from the inside: The door is also locked from the inside. It does not allow free egress simply by turning the handle.
"Thumbpiece Active":
This means the only way to unlock the door from the inside is to actively press the thumbpiece. The handle by itself does nothing to the lock mechanism.
"Ergonomic Pull Handle":
This part functions the same as before—it's the part you grab to pull the door open after it has been unlocked.
"Pull And Thumbpiece Trim":
The physical hardware looks almost identical to the classroom version, but its operation is different because of the internal lock mechanism.
From inside the storeroom, a person must:
Press the thumbpiece down with your thumb. This is the active step that retracts the latch and unlocks the door.
While holding the thumbpiece down, pull the ergonomic handle to open the door.
Crucial Difference: If you only pull the handle without using the thumbpiece, the door will not open. It will remain locked.
